Rolls Royce is in full paradigm shift. While they are already working on the Spectre, which will be their first purely electric model, they are saying goodbye to some more traditional models. The Wraith was the one that currently made the least sense due to its status as a coupe and for having been on the market for almost a decade with hardly any changes. Now his farewell is confirmed through the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Wraith Black Arrow, the latest special edition of the model. It will serve to put an end to this body with V12 mechanics before giving way to the electric age.
The inspiration of this example comes from the Thunderbolt of the 30s, the vehicle powered by Rolls-Royce engines. broke several world speed records. It is no coincidence that it is inspired by a pioneer, since the Wraith is the model with which the brand managed to attract a younger clientele and concerned about sportiness. Hence it has led the V12 engine by flag and that they have catapulted it to very interesting levels of performance in these years. This Black Bagde does not reach the 575.335 km/h of the copy from which it takes its name and which achieved it in 1938, but it has a configuration full of details.
For the bodywork, a gradient between two shadeshe Celebration Silver and the Black Diamond. To achieve this effect, a very complex technique is carried out that gives the car a special texture and a sensation of movement. It is the result of 18 months of different tests and is accentuated with some details in Bright Yellow. Under the hood and on the engine is a exclusive brushed metal plate indicating that it is the last V12 to be fitted to a Rolls-Royce coupe.
The interior of the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Wraith Black Arrow is not far behind. The dashboard is a work of art in itself, receiving a engraving on aluminum which represents the V12 mechanics. It continues with other details such as the doors clad in open pore Black Wood and adding more than 320 pieces of multidirectional and laser marquetry to represent the Bonneville Salt Flats where records were broken. The upholstery debuts Club leatherwhich stands out for its color and for the contrast it achieves with the rest of the elements.
The “starry sky” on the roof of this specimen is also record-breaking, as it has nothing less than 2,117 fiber optic points lights representing stars, the maximum number they have ever made. You cannot miss a dashboard clock that is inspired by those of the 30s and that has black tips and references to the speed record. The Rolls-Royce Black Badge Wraith Black Arrow is an edition limited to only 12 units that have already been assigned to customers.
