Cannon CyberP!ckup 6×6 stomps in Shanghai

Be careful, that’s what it’s called: Cannon CyberP!ckup, the CyberP!ckup does not have a typo or finger error.

In recent times we have seen several conversions of pick-ups into hulking 6-wheelers. Most were built by specialized tuners for clients in the Middle East, but we also have exponents that leave the factory like this, as is the case of Mercedes-Benz with its G-Class 6×6.

Now Great Wall wants to get on this ship of excesses and extravagance and that’s why it introduced the Cannon CyberP!ckupa 6×6 truck that also has the particularity of offering a plug-in hybrid powertrain.

This truck is a joint creation of Great Wall in collaboration with Chaojing Motors, and is based on the van Shanhai Cannon, whose evolution is also shown at the Shanghai Motor Show. Compared to its base model, this 6×6 version obviously adds a third axis, thus having a total of six 18-inch wheels shod with Cooper Discoverer all-terrain tires and a specially tuned heavy-duty suspension with nitrogen dampers.

According to Great Wall, andhe CyberP!ckup is China’s first 6×6 model, and is powered by a 3.0-liter plug-in hybrid twin-turbo engine producing 510 hp and 408 lb-ft of torque. No precise figures were given for its hybrid part, but a certain period of pure electric driving is guaranteed, although that is not the objective of this truck.

Compared to the 4×4 model, this monster gets extended fenders, larger air intakes, an LED light bar, a specific illuminated grille, carbon fiber hood, side sills, and a split tailgate. inside we have place for 5 people, a large central multimedia screen and upholstery in light tones.

At the Shanghai Motor Show, many people thought that this truck was just for display, as if it were a concept or show car, but it has been seen in trials on public roads at the end of last year and there is strong rumors that it will indeed go into production and it will be sold, at least initially, in Chinese territory.
