There are vehicles that become unique simply because very few copies were manufactured, but there are others that are so because they are steeped in history and others, even better, are because they found a place in the hearts of millions of people. This is the case of emblematic Dodge Charger named after General Lee, star of the American series “Dukes of Hazzard”.
In that series we lived the southern adventures with many jumps, skids and chases. Several examples of the Chargers were used to film it, (it is estimated that about 300 were used) where most of them ended up destroyed after the aforementioned jumps. Very few of the units that came on the screen were left alive, and now one of the healthy ones has just broken.
One of the original “General Lees” was involved in a serious car accident in Missouri, USA. Two people in the car suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital.
After investigating the accident, local police chief Preston Schmidt determined that “the driver of the vehicle was traveling too fast for road conditions and lost control of the vehicle he was driving.”
Photos released by authorities show the iconic muscle car skidded off the road and crashed into a tree. As a result, The front end was severely deformed, including the fender, hood, grille, and part of the front suspension, although the engine might have been damaged as well.
The iconic Charger could be repaired, but it will undoubtedly be an arduous, expensive process that will hardly allow the original state of the vehicle to be respected. A huge loss.
