It was the most anticipated question and the most desired answer at the press conference prior to the first Grand Prix of the 2023 Formula 1 season: Can Fernando Alonso get his 33rd victory in the competition this year?
More than his answer, which has been a concise “I don’t know” ensuring that it is “hard to say right now”has powerfully called his reaction and the final gesture.
The two-time world champion shrugged his shoulders, looked at the ground and responded with a smile from ear to ear.
“We have made a step forward. The work base is very good. It is an ambitious project with very talented people in the team wanting to succeed. We are all pushing in the same direction,” he added.
Next, Alonso has assured that he is in the best moment of his career: “I feel better than ever”.
