Last Monday, May 22, at the facilities of the Mexican Soccer Federation, the Assembly of owners of Liga MXwhere the businessmen and representatives of the teams that take the reins around Mexican soccer were present.
As expected, the parade of cars to enter the maximum venue of Mexican football, showed some of the most spectacular vehicles in the country. However, on this occasion, the one who monopolized all the spotlights was Emilio Azcárraga, who was present in a blue Rivian R1T with the América logo on the tray!
And what is interesting about this model? Well, basically, it’s a pickup built by Rivian, an American company founded in 2009 specializing in building electric pickup trucks, and which, in its own way, aspires to follow in Tesla’s footsteps. In fact, it has collaborated with brands such as Ford, Daimler and even Amazon.
Specifically, the R1T is an electric pickup, which, depending on the version, announces a range between approximately 400 km and 640 km. Power in the access version is 600 hp and 600 lb-ft. The next notch announces 700 hp and 700 lb-ft and the pinnacle stays at 835 hp and 908 lb-ft of torque.
Emilio Azcárraga arrived together with Juan Carlos Rodríguez (Next president of FMF) to the owners’ assembly.

The starting price of the Rivian R1T in the United States is $73,000, before taxes. In Mexican pesos this would be around 1.3 million Mexican pesos, but knowing Azcárraga, surely his unit will cost much more.
In addition, it must be considered that Rivian does not have a presence in our country, so this unit had to have been imported at an extra cost. By the way, if you pay attention to the embedded Tweet you will see a small America logo on the back of this truck.
Did you know the Rivian R1T?
