The Mexican sergio prez was shown this Sunday, after the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, very upset with the attitude of his teammate in the Red Bull team, Max Verstappenwho refused to let him pass to score more points in his fight for runner-up, and stated that if the Dutchman has two world titles it is thanks to him.

“I don’t understand his reasons; if he has two championships it’s thanks to me,” said Checo Prez after finishing seventh in Sao Paulo, just ahead of Verstappen, already world champion for the second consecutive year.

The Red Bull team asked Verstappen by radio to let Sergio Prez pass in the final part of the race, but he refused to benefit his teammate, third in the championship with the same points as the second, the Monegasque Charles Leclerc (Ferrari).

“I’ve already told you, so don’t ask me again. Is that clear? I gave you my reasons and I stand by them,” the Dutchman responded by radio to his team after begging them to let the Mexican overtake him.

If Verstappen had let Prez pass, the Mexican would occupy second place in the solo contest in the absence of the closing race, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix next week.
