Fernando Alonso he was voted driver of the day at the Bahrain Grand Prix. The Spaniard achieved his 99th podium in Formula 1 in his first race with Aston Martin And till max verstappen sees him as a strong candidate to fight for victories this season.
However, for Alonso himself, the award should have gone to another driver: his partner, Lance Stroll.
The Canadian, without shooting in the three days of preseason, arrived in Bahrain with clear signs of injury, but he crossed the finish line in sixth place.
After the race, the two-time world champion in Formula 1 surrendered to Stroll, who less than two weeks ago broke a wristhurt another and injured his right foot after a bicycle accident.
