ANDn a market with constant fluctuations, hit by the economic crisis, restrictions on imports and the volatility of the dollar, the Fiat Cronos is one of the few products that continues to grow in sales and is on its way to being the best-selling vehicle in Argentina by second consecutive year and each time by greater difference. According to the brand, the sedan increased its segment’s share of the total market, going from 13% in 2018 to 17% so far in 2022.
With more than 100,000 units sold in our country alone and to continue being a benchmark, the Italian firm presented a new update, this time with aesthetic novelties and above all, at a mechanical level, with the incorporation of the new CVT gearbox and a single engine . Of course, it maintains the formula that led to its success: competitive prices, availability and a great price/equipment ratio.

These are its main features:
The new:
It is the long-awaited update of the sedan produced at the Ferreyra plant in Cordoba, with aesthetic and mechanical modifications. At the design level, the Cronos MY2023 received a facelift in the front sector, with a new grille with two chrome bars. It also introduces new designs for the 15 or 16” alloy wheels (depending on the version), adds the Strato Gray color in a pastel tone and the S-Design version changes the black appliqués for a copper tone. Inside doors, it incorporated a new steering wheel -similar to that of the Pulse-.

The most significant change has to do with its engines, since it leaves aside the 1.8 eTorQ, unifying the entire range with the Firefly 1.3, which now adds the CVT automatic transmission option for the Drive and Precision variants.
Additionally, the brand offers the first two subsidized scheduled maintenance services and an extensive catalog of original Mopar accessories.
Versions:
With these innovations, the range was made up of five versions (three trim levels, a single engine and two transmission options).
Comfort equipment:
The version Attractive It has manual air conditioning, on-board computer with 3.5” display, front and rear window lifters, electric mirrors, AM/FM radio with USB/AUX/Bluetooth, 12V socket, multifunction steering wheel, central locking with remote control. , My Car Fiat and Follow Me Home systems, height-adjustable steering wheel, manually adjustable driver’s seat, rear parking sensors and perimeter alarm.

The version Drive adds automatic climate control, Uconnect multimedia system with 7” touch screen compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. S-Design Bundle: Exterior details in graphite grey/copper, specific upholstery and coatings in black.
The version Precision adds electrochromic rearview mirror, folding exterior mirrors with access light, keyless opening and ignition, rain and twilight sensor, height and depth adjustable steering wheel, steering wheel and leather upholstery.
Safety equipment:
The entire range has dual front airbags, brakes with ABS/EBD/BA, traction control, stability control, three-point inertial seat belts and head restraints on all five seats, Isofix anchorages, hill start assist and tire pressure monitoring.

Mechanics:
The 130 hp 1.8 eTorQ engine was discontinued and the entire range now equips the Firefly 1.3 petrol engine that develops 99 hp at 6,000 rpm and 13 kgm of torque at 4,000 rpm, which until now was used in the Attractive and Drive versions. It can be associated with a 5-speed manual gearbox or the new CVT automatic transmission with 7 simulated speeds and Sport mode.
