Ford could launch a supercar with off-road features, although it has been denied that it is based on the Mustang.

Ford’s strategy in recent times has been to focus on electrification without losing its most important American iconssuch as the F-150, the Bronco, the Raptor and, of course, the Mustang.

Regarding this model, a few months ago we learned about its new generation, which will still take a few months to arrive in Spain, special editions have been launched such as the Dark Horse that increases the power of its V8 to 500 CV and it was rumored that there would be a Raptor variant (the sportiest off-road at Ford).

It all started when the concept art Ford Mustang Raptor S650which promised high performance on and off the road: ideal for heart-stopping speeds on the highway and with the ability to drive safely off-road.

However, everything seems to have been a passing dream for fans of the brand. It has been the CEO of Ford himself, Jim Farley, who has been in charge of throwing a jug of cold water on the desires of many…Although it has advanced something that could be almost as juicy.

Farley denied reports about an off-road Mustang, something that brands such as Porsche have done, with the 911 Dakar, or Lamborghini with the Huracán Sterrato. What he did advance is that he was considering converting a supercar to an off-road vehicle, but something totally new.

If Ford were to put this vision into action, we could see a new addition to the range and possibly a whole new segment within the automotive world: a high-performance car that can be used as a daily-use vehicle and can be taken off-road to have fun in the dirt and mud.

This new model could replace the GT in the coming years and, judging by Farley’s statements, it could be fully electric.
