Honda is fully committed to electrification with the advance of three SUVs

Honda’s big target in the green world is China. The Japanese brand targets the main market for battery-powered cars on the planet for a long time, as it demonstrated at the end of 2021, when it presented its new family of electric vehicles there.

At that time, Honda announced the creation of the e:N Series together with two of its members: the e:NS1 and the e:NP1, two electric SUVs derived from the HR-V. Then, at the end of last year, it unveiled the e:N2 Concept in the Asian country, while now, on the occasion of the Shanghai 2023 Motor Show (where else), the brand shows the world three other concepts.

Honda e:N Series: What’s New

Honda e:NP2 and e:NS2.

Honda introduced the e:NP2, e:NS2 and e:N SUV Prologue concepts. They are three SUVs, two of which are seen in a state quite close to that of productionwith well-defined lines and that represent an evolution of the models that the brand currently offers in the fashionable silhouette.

The e:NP2 and the e:NS2 are extremely similar, something that is not coincidental, since Honda repeated the formula made in the e:NP1 and e:NS1: two models based on one, each one created by a different partner of the brand. In this case, GAC took care of the e:NP2, while Donnfeng took care of the e:NS2.

The differences between e:NP2 and the e: NS2 lie in its front and rear sector, more specifically in its optical groups and fascias. The silhouette is the same, highlighting the fall of the roof, led by a large rear glass.

Honda e:N SUV Prologue.

Different from its brothers is the e:N SUV Prologue, which shows itself in a further stage on their way to production. Due to its dimensions and shape of the roof (with a straighter fall), it can become the advance of a seven-seat model.

The three future models of the e:N family will be produced on the e:N platform., exclusively for electric vehicles. They are expected to begin production in China during 2024, the year in which they would also be launched in that country.

It is worth remembering that Honda is carrying out a plan that plans to offer 10 new electric models in the Asian country by 2027, while in 2035 its offer there should only have this type of engine. On a global level, Honda expects to sell combustion models until 2040, to then definitively focus on electric mobility.
