Kawasaki did not want to go unnoticed at the EICMA in Milan and presented all its ecological innovations for the sustainable future of the brand, including two 100% electric motorcycles that are ready to go into production: the Z BEV and the Ninja BEV.
Both models share the primary structure, which includes a double battery with a maximum capacity of 3 kWh, which due to their position do not seem to be removable and interchangeable, so they will surely be plug-in motorcycles.
The Ninja BEV.
The obvious difference is in the bodywork, one naked, the other sports. Both will be homologated to be able to be driven under the L3e standard, equivalent to a 125 cc motorcycle, which is used with an A and B1 car license.
The brand wants to have them on sale in Europe by 2023.
The Z BEV.
But it was not all, since the president of Kawasaki Motor Corporation, Hiroshi Ito, announced two daring projects that the brand is working on.
The first was unveiled through the HEV or Hybrid Electric Vehicle prototype, which is similar in style to a Ninja 400. It is a hybrid motorcycle, capable of using both energy sources and switching from one to the other easily. It would mount the parallel twin engine of the Ninja 250 or 400, joined to another electric motor arranged on the gearbox and connected to the transmission through a clutch. It would be ready for sale in 2024.

The second was shown through a modified Ninja H2 to integrate a hydrogen system, which would have direct injection of gasoline and hydrogen to generate propulsion. For now it is a preliminary concept, but according to the brand, it could be the future.
