Laurent Rossi surprisingly leaves the direction of Alpine

He will cease to be the Chief Executive, but continues to work at Groupe Renault

Laurent Rossi was severely criticized for his statements in an interview for Canal+

What’s going on?

Surprisingly, we woke up today to the news of the removal of Lauren Rossi from Alpine, In a brief but concrete statement, the CEO of the Renault Group commented that Rossi will now focus on special projects related to the electrical transformation of the entire group.

Luca de Meo stated:

“I would like to thank Laurent for his unwavering commitment over the last two years at the helm of Alpine.”

“Laurent has established a clear and ambitious strategy for the brand. It has put Alpine in the best possible position to achieve its long-term goals.

“Alpine is now ready to enter a new phase of its development and become a brand for the future”

The one who was technical director of alfa romeo and head of engineering at Ferrari, Philippe Kriefwho joined Alpine in early March, has been named successor to rossi.

Krief will continue in his role as Vice President of Engineering and Product Performance until further notice, reporting directly to Luca de Meo.

Things in F1 for Alpine have not been good in the 2023 season, and I remember reading on Motorsport.com the following:

This difficult start to the season led Rossi to arrange an interview with French television channel Canal+ before the Miami GP in May. In it he called his team “amateur”.

What do you think of Alpine? Would you buy one if it was available?
