Lewis Hamilton has no intention of stopping being himself. To stop driving, and to stop launching protest messages whenever possible. English, seven-time F1 world champion he is one of the athletes more active in different struggles, and has made it clear that it is not going to change in the slightest.
And no one is going to tell him what to do. Or that he only does his job inside a Formula 1. This is how he has expressed it in words that are collected on the portal ‘GPfans’.
“No one is going to tell me ‘drive and shut up!'” Hamilton reaffirms.
He also gives LeBron James an example: “There are people who tell him that shut up and just play. They tell you there’s only one thing you can do, and to focus on that.”
“I was winning, but I was missing something. I was missing a goal,” says Hamilton.
And it also launches a series of questions: “Why am I here in Formula 1? Why am I the only person of color?
“There is a real lack of diversity. I want to help change all this, and nothing is going to stop me” judgment.
