Throughout history we have seen very few cars that reach the level of status that has the Volkswagen Golf. The compact has been on the market for almost half a century and has become one of the best-selling vehicles. But not only that, he is also highly regarded by the public due to his good work and his level of balance. However, these bodies are in low hours and it seems that the next Golf will reinvent itself and make the definitive leap to electric. That leaves us with the thought that the Volkswagen T-Roc could be your perfect alternative.
But isn’t it a SUV with a totally different concept? Well yes and no. The T-Roc is a compact crossover that has recently passed through our test section and has shown us that it has a lot in common with the Golf. It is true that they do not share a platform, because in this case the MQB-A0 that the Volkswagen Polo has is used. However, its approach is even more faithful to what the Golf originally had. Here we still do not have the electrification that is so present in the compact, so we could consider it a bit more purist.
Its dimensions are still contained and its weight does not increase too much either. That makes me have a really balanced behavior which reminds us of his “twin brother”. It complies in any field and it is a car that will not disappoint in any way. We tested it with mechanical gasoline 1.5 TSI, with its four cylinders and 150 CV, which is probably the most recommended. But the tuning of the chassis is not the only highlight that the Volkswagen T-Roc has, it also complies in other aspects.
TO technological level we have seen an exemplary improvement after the last update. It has the MIB3 multimedia system, the brand’s most recent, which stands out for its connectivity and speed of response. Everything is digital in the T-Roc, to the point of incorporating striking and useful touch buttons for climate control controls and on its multifunction steering wheel. The habitability is not bad of the compact SUV, which has quite generous rear seats, while its trunk offers 445 liters.
In short, the Volkswagen T-Roc seems to be going to keep the philosophy for a few more years of the Golf while the original model will change irretrievably without a faithful replacement. It could be the ideal alternative for those buyers looking for tradition for a starting price of 30,230 euroswhich is in line with that of other similar products.
