In the last days Jorge Lorenzo dropped a ‘bomb’ on MotoGP and the future of Marc Márquez: He bet that the man from Cervera would ride for the Ducati team when his contract with Honda ends in 2024.
And Márquez has reacted in the run-up to the Italian Grand Prix: “Jorge was a great driver, We’ll see if he’s a great fortune teller. Jokes aside, I’m two years old with Honda and it’s plan A…”.
“I always look for a winning projectNo matter the colors, the years go by. I did the arm thing for that. We will see if in the future it is plan A”, has detailed the eight times motorcycling champion.
And he points out what his “plan A” is: “I still firmly believe in Honda. It is true that it is a Difficult moment and you have to reach the level of your rivals. I don’t look at the results of the other Honda riders. I look at me. There will be time to talk about my future, I’m not worried.”
Regarding this weekend, he affirms that he arrives at a good physical level: “I arrived in Portimao similarly. There I was physically well, prepared. I felt comfortable, at ease and I arrived the same. When I was not well it was before.”
“It is true that we are not in the best scenario to get a good grade. Things are as they are. During the weekend, we will see. Nothing is ruled out, from the outset, you are not defeated. That would be a mistake. We know that on this circuit the weak points of the bike and mine are going to be affected here. Let’s see if we can get something out and save it well,” said the man from Cervera.
