Honda’s range in recent years has been a bit limited. They have focused on their long-lived Civic and alongside the CR-V and HR-V SUVs; in addition to a merely testimonial presence of those in the Jazz and Honda e. Now they want expand into the SUV arena with new products in Europe. Of course, the premise is that they are electrified and, luckily, they already have some ready for their imminent arrival. We talk about Honda ZR-Va crossover that has already been initially announced for Japan and that would cover a very usable gap in the range from next year 2023.
The ZR-V would not follow the alphabetical order, since it would be placed by size just in between of the CR-V and HR-V. A compact SUV that will be one of the three that Honda plans to launch in Europe in the short term to increase its presence on our continent. In this case, they would win a model with a very striking and updated design. draws attention a front with a very vertical grill, which leaves the logo just above and torn headlights on both sides. The rear can be reminiscent of models from other brands and has a sporty touch with the diffuser and the exhaust outlets.
Although the most interesting thing about this Honda ZR-V is that to come to our markets it would have to do so in a hybrid format. And in Japan it has been presented with a propulsion system that curiously is the same one that debuted in the Civic e:HEV. That means that it would be totally feasible to bring it and that it would adapt to European tastes. With up to 184 CV of power, it can boast quite good performance, while offers remarkable efficiency. In Japan there will be AWD all-wheel drive version, something that would be doubtful in Europe.
The truth is that the Honda ZR-V has a winning formula, it would be something like a Civic in crossover format and that is always good news. All that remains is to receive official confirmation of his arrival in Europe, which would be accompanied by that of two other specimens. One could be a completely new version of the CR-V in an electric key and the other would be an electric SUV derived from the Honda e:Ny1 that they launched for China. With this they want to increase their market share and their total sales, which have been stagnant for some time.
