Mercedes-Benz has announced that it is going to develop its own charging network for its electric cars with more than 10,000 chargers.
To date, Tesla has been the only automaker to have developed its own charging network exclusive, known as Superchargers, for vehicles of its own brand (which a few months ago opened for everyone).
Now you won’t be the only one. Mercedes-Benz has announced that it will also develop its own “high-end global charging network”, which will be made up of more than 10,000 high-power chargers all over the world, including North America, Europe, China and other major markets.

As reported, drivers of models of the German brand will be able to book a charging station from their car in advance, but the network will be open and accessible to all electric models from other brands.
building this network will start in the United States this year and later it will do so in other regions around the world. Mercedes’ goal is to have the full network before the end of the decade, when the brand says it intends to be fully electric “where market conditions allow.”
As the automobile company has pointed out, the charging points will be located in key cities and urban centersclose to major thoroughfares and retail and service outlets, including participating Mercedes-Benz dealers.
To complement its new charging network, Mercedes-Benz offers the Navigation “Electric Intelligence”which automatically optimizes route planning, incorporating the best charging points and reserving places in advance.
Free way to the implementation of a charging point every 60 km
In addition, it will have plug & charge functionwhich will allow the charging station to communicate directly with the vehicle via the charging cable, meaning manual authentication via card or app will not be required.
Mercedes-Benz charging points will have restaurants and toilets nearbyas well as surveillance cameras and other measures to provide a safe charging environment.
