Designed for the most demanding customers, the new Mercedes-Maybach S580e is the new member of a very exclusive family, that of luxury limousines. This vehicle is based on the already exclusive Mercedes-Benz S580e, sharing the same powertrain but adding many differentiating accessories.
The S580e pairs a 362PS, 369lb-ft 3.0L inline-six gasoline engine with a 148HP, 325lb-ft electric motor, giving a total power of 503 HP and 553 lb-ft. This allows it to do 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds, finally reaching a top speed of 250 km/h electronically limited.
The battery pack it has is 28 kWh and offers a purely electric range of up to 100 km between charges, measured under the WLTP cycle. In pure EV mode, the top speed is limited to 140 km/h.

The Mercedes-Maybach S580e will be offered first in China, one of Maybach’s strongest markets, followed by Thailand, Europe and other markets, according to the official statement. During the official announcement, Mercedes-Maybach boss Daniel Lescow confirmed that the first all-electric Maybach will also arrive in 2023.
Maybach’s line-up expansion comes after the brand set a second consecutive record year for sales volume, with 21,600 units, an improvement of 37% over the previous year. The brand is not alone in this matter, as other luxury brands like Bentley and Rolls-Royce also had a record-breaking 2022. All of that growth was driven not by Europe, but mostly by demand from Japan, Korea, the Middle East and China.
