we knew that MG Motor was working on a kind of electric hot hatch based on the MG4, the emission-free model that is marketed in Europe. And now, the British division of the company has unveiled the specifications of the new MG4 EV XPOWER; And when orders open later this month, it will be the sportiest, most powerful MG ever.
The new MG4 XPOWER maintains the base on the scalable modular platform MSP and will have a dual motor propulsion system (150 kW front and 170 kW rear), offering 435 Hp of power and up to 443 Lb-ft of torque and four-wheel drive. A true hot hatch that will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, thanks to an exclusive Launch Control system.
It is worth saying that the normal MG4 is sold in Europe in versions of 167 and 201 Hp, with two battery options of 51 and 64 kWh, with a maximum range of 350 km.
The XPOWER will also sport a number of exterior design changes, including ‘XPOWER’ orange brake calipers, a two-tone black roof, new 18-inch alloy wheels and polished details. It will also have an exclusive Racing Green body color.
In terms of technology, it incorporates the new Dynamic Curve Control System, which integrates an electronic locking differentialand Intelligent Engine Control to enable torque vectoring between all four wheels, generating maximum traction.
The suspension was also upgraded with new springs and retuned dampers, stiffer anti-roll bars and more precise steering. The overall stiffness of the suspension has been increased by 25% and added 345mm ventilated discs on all four wheels, with new premium Bridgestone Turanza tyres.

And as a way of enhancing the release, MG Motor will bring the conceptual MG EX4 to the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Conceived on the future MG4 XPOWER and inspired by the 1980s MG Metro 6R4, a rally legend that celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.
