I have always said that the MINI Clubman is one of the most misunderstood compact cars. It has a good dynamic behavior, with that touch of the brand. Possibly the arrival of the MINI 5-door subtracted many sales, but it has a body with four doors (or is it six?) That makes it different from everything else. With engines that can be very powerful, such as the 178 hp Cooper S and finishes as spectacular as the Untold Edition.
East MINI Cooper S Clubman Untold Edition It gains an image that the brand defines as “charismatic” and it is true that, at least, it is striking for a while. The body in color Midnight Black it stands out even more with the front and rear aprons inspired by the John Cooper Works aerodynamic kit. The wheel arches feature a black band and, in addition, there are five parallel stripes that run down the center of the hood and roof.
Also, there are items in that color Refined Brass in contrast, such as the side shields, the projection of the logo emitted by the exterior mirrors and the trims on the door sills. We also see it in the design of the 18-inch light-alloy wheels exclusive to this edition, with a Untold Spoke in two tones.
The exclusivity of the MINI Cooper S Clubman Untold Edition reaches inside, with the version’s black sports seats, illuminated bolster slats and interior surfaces with a discreet stripe pattern, combined with brass-reminiscent air vent surrounds. The space that we saw in our MINI Clubman test does not vary one iota, nor does the trunk with a 360-liter capacity (1,250 liters with the seats folded down).
The improvement of the equipment in the Untold Edition is also interesting, since it seriously includes the MINI Driving Assistant, the driving assistance system with additional functions such as Active Guard that helps avoid collisions with a vehicle in front or stationary at speeds between 10 and 60 km/h braking the vehicle. Camera-based Active Cruise Control (ACC) automatically modifies speed and distance to the vehicle in front at speeds between 30 and 140 km/h.
And all this with the 131 kW (178 PS) four-cylinder petrol engine, which propels the MINI Clubman from standstill to 100 km/h in 7.2 seconds, with fuel consumption between 6.7 and 7, 1 l/100, quite restrained.
