Kia continues with the renewal of its portfolio in our market and with the arrival of the new Carnival, now the fourth generation of the Sorento is added, one of its best-selling SUVs and with greater recognition in the local market.
With the new generation, presented globally in March 2020, the D-SUV makes a significant leap in design, technology and safety, also growing in size to offer a cabin with capacity for 7 passengers. In this regard, Sebastián Sicardi, General Manager of Kia Argentina, stated: “We are proud to announce the launch of the new Kia Sorento, anticipated by many of our loyal customers. In this opportunity, we seek a new way to respond to your demands, introducing ourselves for the first time in the NFT universe and inviting users to be part of the technological movement. The Sorento is bold, practical and flexible, reflecting our constant improvements in quality, design and equipment.”

Precisely, one of the novelties -in addition to what is inherent to the vehicle- is that each unit will have an exclusive NFT. Created by the plastic artist Milo Lockett, the Korean firm presents a collection of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT), where each one represents a unique work. With the purchase of their unit, the customer will receive the artistic piece in their digital wallet in digital asset format and will also have access to exclusive benefits during the first year.
These are the main features:
The new:
It is the fourth generation of Kia’s D-SUV, which stands out for its remarkable evolution in design, technology and dimensions, now with a 7-seater configuration.

Starting with its aesthetics, the new Sorento shows a considerable increase in its dimensions and a much more imposing, more solid style, achieved in large part by the multiple straight lines that it sports on its exterior. There, the Led headlights stand out in the front sector and the huge Tiger Nose grille that frames and surrounds them. The set is completed by the large air intake on the bumper, with a trapezoidal shape and two air intakes at the ends.
In profile, they also highlight more marked lines. The most striking detail is a chrome appliqué that serves as a frame for the windows and has a kind of fin, just behind the rear doors. The adventurous touch is provided by the black plastic protections on the wheel arches and the lower section of the doors, while the rims, with quite low-profile tires and a diamond finish, give it a more sporty air.

Finally, at the rear there is some inspiration in the imposing Telluride, especially the design of the headlights, rectangular in shape and with two vertical bars. Again, as in the entire body, well-marked and straight lines predominate. In addition, it includes the Sorento name located across the width of the gate. The sporty touch is provided by the false “double exhaust outlet” and with an aluminum-colored frame around it.
Indoors is where its sophistication and technological evolution is most evident: the sober board of its predecessors contrasts markedly with that of the new generation, since it has a more three-dimensional design in which two huge screens, 12.3” and 8” are the protagonists and make up the instruments and the multimedia system respectively. In addition, it debuts a new design for the steering wheel and many appliqués in aluminum and piano Black. Also the lining of the seats and the door panels show a more attractive and elegant framework.

Another point where the Sorento takes a big leap is in terms of safety. Although it always offered a very complete equipment, now it adds new driving assistants with frontal collision prevention assistant, pedestrian, cyclist and other vehicle detection camera, cross traffic assistant, blind spot detector, 360º vision system, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking system and assisted parking, among other items.
For our market, the local representative chose a rather conservative option, keeping the diesel engine, with automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive.
