PResented in Brazil at the end of last year with the difficult task of taking the place of the Gol, the Polo Track became the access vehicle to the Volkswagen range and has just arrived in our country to also replace the Polo Trend, which only was available for subscription by savings plan.
The Polo Track stands out for having an aesthetic update that differentiates it from the rest of the hatchback range, although as expected, due to its positioning it has a basic equipment level, even losing some items compared to the Trend. Developed on the MQB platform, it gains significantly in safety against the Goal and its suspension was adapted to the streets and routes of our region.
In this regard, Martín Massimino, Commercial Director of the Volkswagen Group, stated: “The new Polo Track arrives in our market to revolutionize the entry-level segment. It will have the difficult task of replacing the beloved and historic Gol, but we are confident that its robustness and its extensive list of safety and comfort elements will quickly earn it a place in Argentine families.”.
These are its main features:
The new:
It is a new version of the Polo that also becomes the brand’s most accessible product, replacing the Gol and the Polo Trend. Aesthetically, without reaching the modifications that the hatchback received in the more expensive versions that will arrive in the country in the coming months, the Track version shows a slight redesign in the headlights -especially in the internal sector-, of course with halogen lamps and not Led like the rest of the range together with a darkened mask. The grill is wider and has a honeycomb-type lattice, an element also present in the air intake of the bumper, which adds a kind of black mask and a body-color appliqué that gives it a slightly more image. aggressive.
In profile it is identical to the Polo we already know, dispensing with the appliqué on the front wheel arch where the name of the version was located. To reduce costs, it has graphite-colored plastic trims -cups- on steel wheels. Finally, at the rear, the only novelty are the headlights with a darkened mask and two reflectors on the bumper.
Inside doors, we sought to give it a renewed image but without sacrificing costs. Its appearance is austere: it lacks all kinds of appliqués or coatings that enhance its image, although it also shows some care in giving it some striking detail such as the diamond-type relief on the door panels.
Mechanically, as expected, unlike Brazil where it is only available with the 1.0 MSI engine, here it comes with the well-known 1.6 MSI.

Comfort equipment:
Air conditioning, power steering, multifunction steering wheel, front seats with integrated headrests, fabric upholstery, front electric windows, Media Plus radio with Bluetooth connection and three USB ports (two of which are type C), I-System on-board computer and central locking with remote control.
Safety equipment:
Like the discontinued Polo Trend, it has 4 airbags (front and front side), brakes with ABS/EBD/BA, traction control, stability control, hill start assist, and Isofix anchors.
Mechanics:
It maintains the well-known 1.6 MSI 16-valve gasoline engine that equips the rest of the range, develops 110 HP and 155 Nm of torque, coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
