“Now they are more inconsistent than when I was there”

The Ferrari crisis is getting bigger and bigger. The Italian team has signed this 2023 his worst start to the season since 2009, barely achieving a podium in the first five races. The ‘Prancing Horse’ team is the fourth team on the grid, with only 78 points, behind Aston Martin and Mercedes and 146 points behind the championship leader, Red Bull.

By this time last season, Ferrari was leading the constructors’ championship and Charles Leclerc led Max Verstappen by 29 points in the drivers’ championship.

This drop in Ferrari performance is on everyone’s lips in the paddock. The last to talk about it has been Fernando Alonso. The Asturian is one of the greatest beneficiaries of the bad form of the Italians, since Aston Martin has snatched the second position that last year it was held by Ferrari.

Alonso assures that during the five years that he was in Maranello, Ferrari maintained a consistency that allowed him to fight for the championship in 2010 and 2012. “With Ferrari, we were always there every year. we never made mistakes and we fought for the World Cup until the last race on two occasions”, Alonso assured in an interview on ‘Sky Italia’.

The Asturian believes that the team is much more irregular and turbulent today: “Fortunately, for me and also for Aston Martin, there is more inconsistency in Maranello now than in the seasons in which I was there”.

Fernando Alonso has not been the only authorized voice to criticize the Italian team, since a few days ago Ralf Schumacher, Former Formula 1 driver and brother of Michael Schumacher, criticized Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz assuring that “they are Ferrari’s problem.” There is no doubt that the atmosphere in Maranello is becoming more turbulent every day.
