Come on now seriously. Based on the fact that the serial version of the Opel Rocks already offered us a quite interesting design concept when we saw it, when we have seen this e-XTREME version, we have finished convincing ourselves. It all stems from #OpelDesignHack, an industrial design contest for Opel vehicles that aims to strengthen ties with the community and new design talent. The talent in this case is Lukas Wenzhöfer, winner of the challenge who, with his extreme Concept car, has raised passions beyond the Opel factories.
The idea of this concept is about the sensation of freedom: Giving the light quad a 4×4 buggy personality and sporty sensations. We must join the movement that promotes that electric mobility is more than a sensible and ecological solution to go from point A to point B.
Starting from the original 3D design, Opel engineers wanted to stay true to the original design, among which must have From the “order” they kept the protruding wheels, a wide and safe driving position, double wishbones at the front and a characteristic anti-roll ring. But the most striking thing about the lightweight concept is undoubtedly its prominent carbon fiber rear wing, based on an original wing from the Vectra GTS V8 which now bears the “e-XTREME” badging and serial number “001”. The Opel Vizor has also been reinterpreted and equipped with LED headlights and the Opel logo accented in turquoise (well flame). To keep its weight low and favor the performance of the electric motor, the visor and fenders were produced using 3D printing.
