Original Fast and Furious Nissan Skyline GT-R up for auction

Original Fast and Furious Nissan Skyline GT-R up for auction

The Fast and Furious saga has lovers and detractors, but it is undoubtedly a reference in terms of action cinema.. This franchise took us through various emotions at the hands of Vin Diesel (is there a more appropriate last name?) and the late Paul Walker, who made us feel in family aboard a huge catalog of very diverse vehicles.

But out of the vast number of cars seen in the movies, there are a handful that are special, and Within that selection, without a doubt, is the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34, a legendary JDM (from Japan Domestic Market, that is, for the Japanese domestic market) that thanks to this movie saga, its sports credentials and its presence in the Gran Turismo video game, became a niche sports car to a world classic.

The question that concerns us is that the house Bonhams put up for auction this Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 that starred in “Fast and Furious 4”, released in 2009. Obviously it wasn’t the only Skyline used for the action scenes, (actually there were 5) but this unit is special, since the rest were GT-T models with naturally aspirated engine and rear-wheel drive, while the GT-R is plain and simple something else.

The model that is going to be auctioned is a GT-R with a 2.6 L twin-turbo six-cylinder engine, with 320 HP, but in this case it is boosted and reaches 550 HP. Its particularity is that it belonged to Paul Walker himself, who made the following modifications:

  • Turbonetics Front Mount Intercooler
  • Nismo springs
  • Custom made roll cage
  • ARC Titanium Strut Stay
  • 19X11 Volk Racing RE30 19×11 Wheels
  • Rotora brake conversion with six-piston calipers up front and four-piston calipers at the front rear
  • Nismo version II bumper with side skirts
  • East Bear Chest
  • rear seat removal
  • Momo Sport Alcantara steering wheel
  • Nismo V-Spec pedals (seen up close during street race countdown)
  • Custom front screen for dash mounted monitor
  • MFD Xenarc display unit with indicators programmed into the car’s ECU
  • Sony head unit
  • OMP custom racing seats with five-point belt system
  • Nismo NE-1 exhaust system
  • Boost pressure raised to 550hp with upgraded intercooler and exhaust mods.

As a broker and collector, It’s no surprise that Walker knew exactly what to do with his car. It’s more, he had the good sense to remove all the vinyl and exterior visual décor to highlight the clean, classic lines of the Bayside Blue Skyline color. He even requested that the rear fog light be changed from a red lens to a white one. To this day, the driver’s seat remains in the exact same position that the actor used. for the filming of the film, a no lesser detail.

This unit is currently located in Germanyfor some years it has been passing hands, but apparently it is not used on the track but spends its days between exhibitions, since it is maintained with very low mileage. Maybe it’s time some enthusiast with money bought this sports car and put it to the use it deserves and that Paul Walker would have wanted. Godzilla is always hungry to gobble up supercars.

The auction will start on April 28 and end on May 5 on the Bonhams website.. But until the 26th it will be on display at Motorworld, in Munich, Germany. The minimum bid amount has not yet been disclosed nor is it known how high the bid could go. How much would you pay?
