It is not news that Honda is betting heavily on electrification. It is a strategy that most manufacturers are carrying out and that, in the case of the Japanese, is already present in the entire range of models today. But there is still a lot to do and for the future they are preparing new more advanced specimens. This is how prototypes such as the Honda e:N2 Concept which has just been unveiled in China, the market for which its production version is planned.
While for Europe something of the style of the e: Ny1 Prototype fits more, which is an electric Honda HR-V; the new prototype adopts a sedan body which is most appreciated in the Asian continent. It follows the same design language as other examples of the e:N Concept family, standing out for some angular and fairly straight lines. Although what is most striking about this Honda e:N2 Concept is its intricate light signature, with narrow headlights that are joined in the center and are linked to vertical daytime running lights.
It has a slanted C-pillar and a rear that replicates the same light pattern, as well as details such as large alloy wheels, door handles flush with the bodywork or the absence of rear view mirrors conventional. Images of the interior have not yet been shown, but the firm says that they have achieved a refined atmosphere in which users will feel at home. They talk about a clean and uncluttered digital cockpitwith all the technology of Honda Connect, ambient lighting and aromas to create “intelligent hospitality”.
It sits on the e:N Architecture F platform, which is the one that was developed exclusively for all the models of the e:N family. The fact is that Honda plans to launch 10 copies between now and 2027 in China through the subsidiaries Dongfeng Honda and GAC Honda, so there is little chance of seeing them in Europe. In any case, they claim that the Honda e:N2 Concept and its siblings will get a elevated driving pleasure, in addition to excellent car stability. It remains to be seen how the production version is and if it succeeds in the Asian market.
