What’s going on?
Although it seems strange that there is an urgent call or recall of a car that has been on the road for 20 years, it has just happened in the USA where the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) alerts the vehicle users Dodge Ram, version 1500 specifically of the 2003 model to verify in a link with the vehicle’s VIN number if it should be checked and, if necessary, replace the front passenger’s Air Bag, as it can explode suddenly.
In Mexico there has not been an official pronouncement in this regard, and in the event that you are the owner of a Dodge RAM 1500 model 2003, we specifically recommend you check the link that we share below –with the VIN number of your Pick Up– and if your vehicle is involved in that recall We recommend that you go to a RAM dealer and they will advise you there.
You also can visit NHTSA.gov/recalls and enter your 17-digit vehicle identification number to see if your vehicle has a defective Takata airbag. If so, contact a dealer to schedule a FREE repair as soon as possible and follow the vehicle manufacturer’s warnings.
