Fernando Alonso it is clear that he is going to leave everything for everything in the three races remaining for the present Formula 1 World Championship to end. The Alpine driver, who already knows that in 2023 he will be at Aston Martin, has no intention of relaxing in the slightest in a final stretch of the championship with many things at stake for the Gauls.
Because the Asturian, two-time world champion with Renault, he knows that he owes a lot to the French on his path in the motor world. They were the ones who bet on him, and he went with them with whom he won his two World Cups.
And besides, they were also the ones who he was ‘rescued’ from McLaren in 2008, in addition to giving him the opportunity to return to Formula 1 after two years away from the Great Circus.
For this reason, Alonso is going to go all out for the rest: “Renault is the team of my history. I’m going to help them achieve fourth place until the last lap”.
“We entered Q3 by the hair…”
“It’s been a little weird this year. We lost a lot of points, but…”, Alonso said in words for ‘DAZN’ after qualifying for Mexico.
One in which he comes out ninth, ahead of Esteban Ocon but after Lando Norris: “We’ll try to make a good start to get past the McLaren.”
“But we haven’t been very fast, Let’s see in the race… We had only one set of tyres, we entered Q3 by the hairs…”, says Fernando.
Alonso seeks, in addition to fourth place for Alpine, stay ahead of Esteban Ocon in the Drivers’ World Championship. He is seven points behind, and the progress in the championship makes us optimistic to see the Spaniard ahead of the French.
