The Renault factory in Valladolid It dates from 1972 and is one of the most traditional vehicle production facilities in our country. At that time it was baptized as Assembly Factory 2 and when the first Renault R8 left its assembly line, nobody imagined that it would reach the milestone that they have just met. They have just arrived at eight million cars manufactured, a quantity to take into account and that shows off the good adaptation that this plant has had. In more than half a century, up to 19 models have passed through its lines.
Although it all started with the R5, R7, R12, R18, R9, R4, R11, R19, Clio, Twingo, Modus, Twizy and Captur. In fact, this last copy is the one that has really made the Factory of Valladolid take a step forward and they have already more than two million units of the small SUV. In addition, it has helped to electrify the facilities by having hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions. The unit that has completed the milestone is a Captur E-Tech that has a unique configuration by having the body painted in lightning blue and the roof in black.
Although most of the Captur produced at the Valladolid plant is exported, it it ends up in the garage of a national client. The eight million cars manufactured in Valladolid are good news for the national industry due to the longevity of the facilities. In fact, the French brand began to produce in this province in 1953 with the now defunct Assembly Factory 1. It was operating until 1991, managing to make more than 2.4 million units of up to 14 different models. Between the two Factories they would add up to more than 10.4 million cars that have been exported to more than 70 different countries.
