Volkswagen reported its 2022 business results, highlighting that global deliveries of electric vehicles (BEV) grew 23.6% compared to 2021, to 330,000 units, all within the framework of a drop in the sale of models with other types of propulsion.
In total, the brand delivered around 4.56 million vehicles across all types in 2022, a 6.8% drop. SUVs are the fastest growing market segment, with the brand’s share of total deliveries rising to 45% (+4%).

The largest brand of the Volkswagen group reported that the ID.4 was the best-selling electric model in the world (of the group), with around 170,000 units delivered to customers in 2022.
In China, the company’s largest sales market, Volkswagen doubled deliveries of all-electric models to 143,100 units (+102.9%). There was also a big boost in sales in North America with growth of 27.7%.
