Formula 1 is back. Finally. The wait has been long. This coming weekend the engines will roar again and twice in baku. Because in addition to the race, the sprint will be held in a renewed format that puts a new classification on the table on Saturday.
What happened in Australia is far behind. max verstappen took victory ahead of lewis hamilton and of Fernando Alonso, third. Very important improvement of the Mercedes that they want to confirm this weekend, where they will also carry improvements.
It was worse for Ferrari. Only Carlos Sainz finished in fourth place. But race management gave him a five-second penalty for taking Alonso ahead at the restart. He sent him to the back of the grid and this past week the FIA confirmed his punishment.
It will be the race of improvements. It is expected that all the teams carry important packages. One of the most commented has been that of Aston Martin, which will have a new rear wing looking for top speed to be able to fight against Verstappen’s Red Bull and Czech Perez.
Precisely this Tuesday Red Bull has raised its voice to complain that it will be the team that improves the least as the season goes by. Christian Horner, head of energy drinks, has said they are at a disadvantage due to limited use in the wind tunnel.
Hours and where to see
There will only be one free practice session throughout the weekend: it will be on Friday from 11:30 a.m. The classification for the race on Sunday will be held that same Friday from 3:00 p.m.
Saturday will be the day of the sprint: from 11.30 am the classification and from 3.30 pm, the sprint itself. The race will be held on Sunday from 1:00 p.m.
The whole weekend can be followed through the sixth on the special device for Formula 1. On television it can be followed through the ‘DAZN F1’ channel.
