We have been talking about the rising car prices. It is something generalized worldwide, but it is more noticeable in a country like ours in which the average salary is not exactly to shoot rockets. To show that it is not a perception, but a reality, a study comes to us that proves it. And it is that Spain is the ninth country where it is more expensive have a car. To obtain this data, variables such as the price of the vehicle, the fuel or the average salary have been taken into account.
Finn Auto has been in charge of doing this analysis that says that Mexico is the least affordable country to have a car. It scores 9.7 out of 10 due to factors such as high fuel costs or the fact that its most popular car (the Nissan Versa) is quite expensive. There is quite a difference compared to the second on the list, which is Estonia with 8.79 points. From there several European countries are chained that are Latvia, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Israel and Greece; until reaching the ninth position in Spain with 6.82 points.
On the other side of the scale we would see countries like Luxembourg (0.46 points) for their high salaries, like the United States (0.91 points) for the low price of fuel or Australia (1.97 points) for the same reasons. On the other hand, the Finn Auto study has also used a fairly significant indicator to get an idea of the cost of having a car in each country. They calculated the percentage of the annual salary that would be necessary to acquire the most popular vehicle in each country.
The truth is that it is a piece of information that must be taken with a grain of salt due to the situation in each place, but in Spain found that 57.52% was necessary of annual income to buy a car. The calculation was made by calculating that the average income is 37,328 euros and that the price of a SEAT León is 25,490 euros. In Estonia, 99.61% of annual income would have to be used to buy an average car (the Toyota RAV4 there) due to inflation. In the meantime, in Japan with only 26.34% of the annual salary you could buy a Honda N-Box.
