Not only the fans think that Hungary is a very good place to Fernando Alonsobut the Asturian pilot himself defends this theory and has made it known in the previous Formula 1 press conference.
At the Hungaroring many positive factors come together for the ’14’. Not only is it a circuit that favors Aston Martinbut it is also the place where he achieved his first victory: “I remember very well my first victory 20 years ago in Hungary, that’s what changes a pilot’s life.”
“I’m optimistic we’ll get it right here again. The fast corners at Silverstone and the Red Bull Ring are not easy for our car, but this circuit is much slower than the other two,” he added.
However, this optimism does not cloud Alonso’s view of the objective he continues to have set for this season: “We will have a tough battle until the end for second place in the Constructors’ Championship. The competition from Ferrari, Mercedes and now also McLaren is fierce. We hope to perform more and betteralthough our rivals are going to bring important packages”.
Despite these important packages, the Asturian does not hide that Hungary is favorable to Aston Martin: “The characteristics of the circuit are better suited to the car. The fast corners and straights are not the best for our package and I hope we can be strong again here. We are confident that we will not suffer like in Austria or Silverstone. We will have to use the same rubber in qualifying, it will be the same for everyone.”
