On the occasion of the start of the Shanghai Motor Show 2023, the smart #3 was presented to the public, the second model of the new era of the brand, today owned by Geely and Mercedes-Benz, and which is characterized by presenting a proposal for the world of SUVs with a sporty style, as shown by its silhouette that emulates the fastback style.
Smart #3: Outside and inside

The brand new model is neither more nor less than the one seen in November 2022, when patents were leaked from government agencies Chinese. It is built on Geely’s Open Source Modular Platform (SEA) and was designed by Mercedes-Benz.
As for the exterior, at the moment smart did not provide details about its dimensions, although, according to what was leaked months ago, its length would reach 4.4 m, while its width would be around 1.8 m.
From the design itself, we can say that its front recovers part of what was seen in the smart #1, with the same front light group and a similar bumper, although the latter has more subtle finishes, without such marked design lines or chrome protectors in the lower part.
From the smart #1 it also takes the plastic moldings on the fenders and doors, darkened B-post, retractable door handles, the housing of the rear-view mirrors in a color that contrasts with the rest of the body, short overhangs and the rear optics.
One of the main characteristics of #3 is its roof with a slight drop at the top, but a greater inclination on the glass side. giving the impression of being a fastback, but keeping a good interior space for the heads.

As for the interior of smart #3, although the brand did not provide information, apparently in the Shanghai Motor Show it is very similar to that of #1being starred by the 12.8” screen for the multimedia system, and accompanied by another 9.2” for the instrument panel.
Just below the big screen is one of the novelties: the air conditioning outlets are 3 instead of 2, and round instead of rectangular. Afterwards, the cabin does not seem to have received major changes.
Smart #3: Mechanics

At the moment, smart did not provide details about the electric drive system of the #3, but it is expected to be presented in two variants: a rear-wheel drive, thanks to a battery motor that would deliver 272 Hp; another with integral traction, product of the inclusion of a second impeller in the front axle, to provide a total of 428 Hp. The #3 battery would have a capacity of 66 kWh, and would have a range of close to 450 kilometers.
