Alfa Romeo has confirmed that there will be an electric version of the Giulia and that its Quadrifoglio version will have 1,000 HP of power.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is one of the sportiest sedans of the moment. Thanks to your 2.9-liter V6 Biturbo engine with 510 hp It is one of the few that can stand up to the “king” of the segment, the BMW M3, which declares the same power.

However, the Italian brand wants to break the tie between these two supercars with an electric variant of the Giulia Quadrifoglio that could boast a maximum power of up to four figures.

It has been Jean-Philippe Imparato, CEO of Alfa Romeo, who has been in charge of confirming the future of the Giulia saloon, which will maintain its name in the electric future of the brand.

Up to 800 km of autonomy and 1,000 CV

Imparato has given some details of Giulia’s replacement (which, as we say, will have the same name). Thus, he has explained that cIt will feature the next EV STLA Large platform from the Stellantis Group. The STLA Large platform is based on the Giorgio platform on which the Giulia is currently built.

At the same time, the highest representative of Alfa Romeo, has indicated that the electric Giulia will have up to 800 km autonomy and will use 800 volt architecture that will allow for rapid recharging.

In terms of power, the base version will produce 350 CV and the Veloce, 800 CV, which are already more than respectable figures. The icing on the cake will continue to be the Quadrifoglio version. Unfortunately, we will have to say goodbye to the 2.9-liter biturbo V6 engine of the current model, although, yes, we will find an electrified Giulia Quadrifoglio that will double its power to 1,000 hp.

The Veloce and Quadrifoglio variants could adopt a configuration similar to that of the upcoming Maserati GranTurismo Folgore, which has three electric motors, one in front and two in back.
