DACIA SPRING
It is positioned as one of the most interesting small electrics available for what it offers in terms of price/product ratio. We are talking about the most affordable electric car on our market until the future BYD Seagull arrives and, therefore, in terms of savings it is difficult to beat… not only because of its starting price, but also because of the fair equipment that comes as standard, reducing to a minimum the possibilities of failures, etc.
Dacia Spring price
As we said, its main asset is that, according to the online configurator of the Romanian manufacturer -as of July 2023-, its base price is less than 13,000 euros if you rely on the Moves III Plan or 19,990 euros if you do not.
AUTONOMY AND PERFORMANCE OF THE DACIA SPRING
The Dacia Spring mounts a 26.8 kWh capacity battery that gives it to travel up to 227 km with each full charge. In addition, the model has two versions (Electric 45 and Electric 65) with 45 and 65 CV engines, respectively.

The Renault Zoe has available a version with motor of 80 kW of power and another one with 100 kW; that is to say, with 109 and 136 CV. Both share a 50 kWh battery that approves a range of 386 km.

Aesthetically, the Zoe seeks to be very similar to the iconic Renault Clio. In fact, many features of the front and side view are practically traced. The modern reinterpretation of the Fiat 500 was to a large extent the economic salvation of the Turin brand, thanks to the good reception it had – and continues to have – in some specific market niches such as young or female audiences. In 2022, the icon was fully electrified, giving way to the zero-emission version called the 500e.

The retail price of the Fiat 500e is close to 30,000 euros, but through its website customers can benefit from a special online discount and purchase it for just under 29,000 euros -as of July 2023.-

The Fiat 500e can be chosen with a 70 kWh battery and 95 HP engine or with an 87 kWh battery and 118 HP engine. The autonomies are 180 and 320 km.

The main asset of the Fiat 500e, as it has been throughout the entire history of the model, is its design. In the case of the 500 of the 21st century, we are talking about a very successful modern reinterpretation that is faithful to the original in aspects such as the grill, the headlights or the side silhouette. The electric one, yes, has a faired grill to improve aerodynamics and rejects the exhaust outlets. Inside, it is also possible to remember the original model with touches such as the design of the dashboard or the instrument panel.

The Peugeot e-208 is the electric version of the utility that is sweeping our country and only differs from it in certain details of the grill, which adds flashes in blue. Due to synergies with the Stellantis Group to which Peugeot belongs, this model has many technical similarities with the Opel Corsa-e, Citroën e-C4, etc.

With its latest restyling, the Peugeot e-208 increased the power of its electrical system to 156 hp and improved efficiency. It also has the initial 136 CV. The 51 kWh battery promises up to 398 km of autonomy.

At 4.06 meters long, it is one of the longest cars on the list and therefore also the most spacious. On the outside it’s pretty much the same as a 208 with a combustion engine, minus the aforementioned grille detail, and on the inside it has a rather positive quality look and feel for the segment in which it finds itself. Undoubtedly, an absolutely differentiating aspect is the configuration of the driving position with the so-called i-Cockpit, which consists of a horizontal screen that is seen above a small, flattened steering wheel.
SMART FORTWO EQ

The two-seater Smart is the urban car par excellence. Its short length of just 2.69 meters and its width of 1.47 meters allow its users to park it and maneuver it as easily as possible on four wheels. As established by current standards, the latest generation debuted in electrification with the EQ version, which is what the Daimler Group calls its zero-emission technology.

Despite being a small car and being the access model to the brand, we are dealing with a premium manufacturer and that makes the base figure of the Smart Fortwo EQ rise to 25,000 euros (28,000 if you want it convertible.)

The motor of the smallest electric Smart provides 82 CV of power and its 17.6 kWh battery approves a range of around 130 km, although they can be exceeded by exclusive use in the city.

The design of this car is subject to its proportions and its size, so there are hardly any overhangs, nor are there very remarkable shapes, and of course the trunk capacity is fair even for a week’s purchase. The cabin has space for two people and, although there was a four-passenger variant called the Smart Forfour EQ, it is no longer in production, so it can only be found on the second-hand market.
