Land Rover Range Rover owners have a problem in the UK: no insurer wants to cover their car.
The Land Rover Range Rover is one of the most popular cars in the UK, but unfortunately it is the second most stolen vehicle last year. And this, which seems trivial, is becoming a problem for the owners of the high-end SUV of the British brand: nobody wants to insure them.
The friends of others have put the Range Rover in the spotlight, because It is a car that “places” easily (and with great benefits) thanks to its popularity. Thus, some 5,200 copies were stolen in 2022.

“The problem with Range Rovers is not their safety, but their enormous popularity here and abroad,” said Neil Thomas, director of investigative services at tracking company AX. «Thieves know they can get rid of one very easily and for a good price.so they will invest in the technology they need to steal them.”
This has had a perverse effect on Range Rover owners as they have Difficulty securing the vehicleespecially in London. Land Rover used to insure its own vehicles in the UK, but stopped doing so last November. Because of this, Range Rover owners have been forced to turn to outside companies, many of whom are unwilling to provide cover or they charge too high premiums.
According to Autocar, which has spoken with one of the owners of this vehicle, one of the owners claimed that the premium they had charged for the 2022 Range Rover Autobiography was higher than the cost of insuring your other four luxury vehicles combined. In fact, according to this same publication, the cost of covering the British SUV triples that of the Bentley Bentayga, despite the fact that the latter costs about 56,000 euros more.

Land Rover recognizes that it is aware of the problem owners face and that is trying to help. “We are aware of the impact that this crime is having on the availability of insurance options for some of our customers,” a spokesman for the carmaker explained. “We are proactively engaging with relevant stakeholders, including insurance providers, to demonstrate how we are improving vehicle safety and providing measures to counter this type of activity.”
