Castilla y León, specifically a province of the community, has the dubious honor of having the three longest section radars in Spain.

For the majority of Spanish drivers, the road CL-615 it will be unknown, although for those drivers who use it regularly, especially from Palencia, it can be a nightmare and a test of self-control (especially with the accelerator).

And it is that the CL-615 highway, which joins the towns of Palencia and Guardo and which supports the central and northwestern area of the province of Palencia, is the road that has the dubious honor of being the one that more kilometers are controlled by section radars.

The CL-615 highway accumulates the two longest section radars

There are also section radars on conventional roads, especially in Catalonia.

Its just over 184 km in length, 92 outbound and 92 back, host the two longest stretch radars in our country. The first, in an increasing sense, monitors nothing more and nothing less than 32.9 km starting from kilometer point 1.7 to 34.6. The second, in a decreasing direction, runs from kilometer 38.3 to 49.9: a total of 11.7 km.

It must be remembered that a section radar is in charge of controlling that the vehicles that circulate through its “domains” do not exceed on average the speed marked as maximum on the road. In the case at hand, the limit is established at 90 km/h, so any vehicle that declares a speed higher than the aforementioned 90 km/h from the starting point to the end point will be fined.

In which Autonomous Community are there more radars?

Curiously, if we look for the third radar with the longest section of those located in Spain, we do not have to go too far. We are still in Palencia, although this time we find him in the road CL-613with a section radar that measures the average speed of drivers for 17.2 km (between kilometer 15.4 and 32.6 in both directions).

For the peace of mind of many, what is certain is that none of the mentioned section radars is among the 50 radars that fined the most in 2021which is the latest year for which data is available.
