A study maintains that customers who purchase an SUV repeat this type of bodywork on their next purchase.
The SUV segment is the most popular in the automotive industry in almost all regions of the planet. Born in the United States, he has conquered Europe and it seems that he is not going to be superseded by another type of bodywork, if we look at the analyzes and reports of different experts.
The last of the studies in this regard has been carried out by the American consultancy S&P Global Mobility and it concludes that SUV owners are the most faithful when it comes to body styles. The report shows that 73 percent of SUV owners (nearly 3 in 4) are likely to purchase another SUV when buying a new vehicle. And it is not something specific, as it has been maintained over time: this trend has been maintained for almost four consecutive years.
They recommend that brands have several ranges of SUVs

The same study concludes that drivers of other types of vehicles are not as faithful. Only 48.8 percent of pick-up owners look for a model with the same characteristics when they have to buy a new vehicle. The loyalty rate among saloon drivers is even lower: only 35.6 percent seek to repeat with this type of bodywork.

Another interesting finding from this S&P Global Mobility report is that among SUV owners, buyers don’t often return to the same SUV segment. In the compact, mid-high, compact luxury, and mid-high luxury segments, fidelity never reached 50 percent.
Thus, the consultant’s analysts point out that it is no longer enough for manufacturers to have an SUV or two in their range. They need to have several SUVs of different sizes and prices to build loyalty your customers when it’s time to trade in their vehicle for a new one.
