Will Fernando Alonso be right? The obsession of the Aston Martin ‘guru’ for the “gaps” of the F1 regulations

Last August, when Fernando Alonso announced his decision to leave Alpine and sign for Aston Martin, many teams wondered why change the fourth team on the grid for the seventh… but the Asturian, as they recognize from the paddock, “He has a lot of contacts.”

The two-time champion of Formula 1 He was aware of the enormous investment that the Silverstone team was making, the project with the new factory and, above all, the illusion deposited in the 2023 car.

As the team itself explained, it will be the first car made by Dan Fallows Y Eric Blandinex-engineers of Red Bull Y Mercedes respectively.

The first, technical director, was under the command of the great Adrian Newleythe architect of the success of energy drinks, for many years … and took note.

Last week, Blandin claimed that Aston Martin had found “gaps in the regulation” when making the aerodynamics. This, together with the fact that the power unit will be from Mercedes, immediately increased the illusion.

Now, Fallows has explained his obsession with presenting a ‘BrawnGP’ next Monday, February 13.

“Good ideas usually appear at three in the morning. It’s something that drives my wife crazy. I wake up in the middle of the night and have a new idea. I find it strange how the brain works. It works even when you’re sleeping and different options come to your mind,” she explained in statements collected by ‘Marca’.

“I’ve gotten to the point where I say to myself, ‘Okay, go to bed and let my head do the work for the night.’ And it really happens that I wake up and suddenly I have the thought: ‘That’s exactly what I have to do’. It’s really strange,” she added.

“I’ve also learned over the years that people arrive at solutions in many different ways. For me that happens when I sleep. Others come up with a good idea while running or walking. Less frequently, however, is someone seeing the light while looking at their computer screen. That’s one of the reasons why I strive to give employees a lot of freedom at the new Aston Martin race car plant. Looking at your computer all the time in a cubicle does not give the best results,” he has settled.
