In the 2023 edition of the Wards Awards, where the quality of interiors and infotainment of cars is rated, Kia stands out with one of its models.
What’s happening?
The 2023 Kia Sportage is one of the winners of the Wards 10 Best Interiors & UX award. This model earned high marks for its comfortable and upscale interior, along with its easy-to-use controls and center display.
To determine the winners, Wards’ team evaluated new or deeply redesigned vehicle interiors, as well as user experience technology. The score is based on a variety of metrics including: design, aesthetics, comfort, materials, finishes, build quality, connectivity and infotainment, displays, controls, advanced driver assistance systems, and value.
“Wards judges are always looking for great interiors and the best user experience in vehicles at a reasonable price, and with the Sportage Hybrid we couldn’t ask for more,” says Christie Schweinsberg, Wards editor and Wards 10 Best Interiors judge. & UX. “Our test vehicle had an amazing array of features that we loved, including lots of soft-touch surfaces, an eye-catching red and black color scheme, quick phone syncing, dual 12.3-inch curved screens. Head-up screens, playing a dazzling welcome animation, as well as multi-function climate and audio controls and generous cargo space.”
Projecting the brand’s new design philosophy “Opposites United”, the interior of Sportage 2023 was inspired by high-end modern architecture, furniture and outdoor productsit includes an available Dual Widescreen Curved Display, which integrates the instrument cluster and center display.
“We are honored that the editors at Wards have recognized the attention to detail we have put into elevating the Sportage in-cabin experience,” said Steven Center, Kia America’s chief operating officer and executive vice president. “Our designers worked hard to transform the interior into a pleasant space and we are proud that this concept resonates with the experts at Wards”.
