Follow the tension at Red Bull. follow at least with Sergio Perez. The Mexican pilot had a bad, very bad, classification in the Australian GP after some Free 3s in which his car, the RB19, was tremendously nervous.
Rarely was he able to make a corner ‘at full power’ without going off the line, without blocking or without making a mistake. And so he reached the classification.
Because everything stayed the same. And in Q1, in turn 3, he went out to not being able to get the car out of the sand and cause the first, only and last red flag of the session.
On the radio it was more than clear: “It’s the same f***ing problem! We haven’t fixed it!”
He said that, but Red Bull, through Helmut Marko, has denied that this was the case: “We had a problem with the engine brake, but now fixed for qualifying.”
“But he had problems with the set-up of the car. He hesitated, and he mistaken in the ranking. The asphalt was slippery and he measured wrong”, he insists on ‘Sky F1’
And then he points out: “I was insecure. Impetuous. It was the first lap, and those tires were cold. But problems, this weekend, none.”
