Ferrari F40 by Liberty Walk Debuts at Tokyo Auto Salon

Another of the great “returns” in terms of auto shows is the Tokyo Auto Salon (blessed pandemic), And even with all the uncertainties, this year the automotive mecca on that side of the world reopens its doors to the industry: brands, models, suppliers and, of course, preparers.

Liberty Walk could not be left out of the party so, assertively, they began working on this project very early, and I say “early” because it is impossible for a job of this level to be ready in six months; much less when the model involved is a classic from Maranello.

It’s about a Ferrari F40 worked and detailed in the purest Japanese style of Liberty Walk, where they chose to “widen” the body by hand. This they got working by hand all four fenders, hood, front and rear, thus reducing the installation of custom-made parts, which is what most do. The work also included the manufacture of new components:

  • Headlights type F40 LM
  • New hood with functional air intakes
  • Front lip with side baffles
  • Wheels in black finish
  • side steps
  • Redesigned rear wing
  • lower diffuser.

Surely the official list of parts and details made to this Ferrari F40 is endless; just look at the type of tires (Toyo slicks), progressive ultralight wheels or air suspension. Liberty Walk has commented that the 2.9-liter biturbo V6 engine is intact and, perhaps it is an excellent decision, although with tuners you never know… we will also have to wait for this kit to become commercial or it is an “only one” edition” on the occasion of the Tokyo Auto Salon.

In the meantime, I leave you this video and judge for yourself, what details would you do or take away from this Ferrari F40 by Liberty Walk?
