Plan Moves III, this is the true situation and the funds that remain in Spain — Electric car — Autobild.es

Until the last day of 2023, all those who buy an electric car and meet the requirements of type of vehicle, price… will be eligible for government aid. However, presenting the application is not synonymous with being a beneficiary of the discount because in many cases there is no longer a budget… We will tell you what is the situation of the Moves III Plan and, above all, how much money is left.

The bases of the third edition of the aid plan for the purchase of efficient vehicles establish that they can be requested until December 31, 2023. Also that the total budget will be 800 million euros (First, 400 million euros were activated and given the high demand there was an extension).

The total endowment is distributed among the autonomous communities based on their number of inhabitants and that once what corresponds to them has been exhausted, they may request a second injection of capital that must be approved by the Institute for Energy Diversification (IDAE) which is the body in charge of managing the aid.

Another part of the fine print establishes that once the budget is exhausted, applications that will enter the waiting list will continue to be received.

Plan Moves III: this is the current situation

A few days ago the Minister of Industry Reyes Maroto took stock of the situation of Plan Moves III. He said that of the 800 million allocated to boost sales of efficient vehicles, especially electric cars and plug-in hybrids, only 126 million euros remain. This means that more than 85% of the total has been distributed.

We take account of the data provided by the minister and we discover that the Government has distributed just over 674 million euros to promote electric mobility in Spain. Of that amount, 338.28 million euros have served to encourage the purchase of vehicles and 336.35 euros have allowed the installation of charging points.

By autonomous communities, Catalonia it is the one that has received the most public funds to finance the purchase of efficient vehicles (63.94 euros, 18.9% of the total); followed by the Valencian Community (48.79 million, 14.4%) and Madrid (48.04 million, 14.2%).

In terms of aid for the installation of charging points, the Catalan is once again the autonomy that has distributed the most money (63.94 million euros). At this point it is Madrid that is in second position (35.45 million) while Andalusia is in third place (34.41 million).
