This is what the 911 would look like if Porsche were a generalist brand

It is almost impossible to imagine a Porsche 911 without its full potential. Without its top engine, its top finishes, its top interior, its top sound. All top in one rolling icon. But imagine for a moment that Porsche was a generalist brand and that there was a basic 911 accessible to many budgets. In the curiosity of the day we tell you what a 911 would be like in its basic range.

The designer and instagramer “@sugardesign_1” has accustomed us to quite a few very curious designs and even some genius. Stalking his instagram account the other day for inspiration, I came across a curious render of the 911.

A render that was hard for me to recognize and that I couldn’t help but save to bring you this article. Friend Sugar had conceptualized a basic 911, in the Corsa Van or C15 style (with all due respect to the C15) and had stayed wider than a hot dog.

Look at the bumpers in “bumper black”, the typical rim without hubcaps, the van finish. Everything, it has everything. He is ugly and charming in equal measure. With a kind of “night package” it has tinted windows and rear-view mirrors in “bumper black” and even maintains the two exhaust outlets, but with that “transport and delivery” finish so typical of other brands and ranges.
