BYD needs no introduction at this point. It is a car manufacturer of Chinese origin, but not just any one. It is one of the largest conglomerates that exist and includes several brands that have sales in the millions. The last one they have presented is called Yangwang and wants to target the premium directly. Under that brand they want to market luxury cars that can be at the level of Europeans. Even some as daring as the Yangwang U9an electric sudeportivo with surprising features.
Although Yangwang has just been born, the truth is that he is aiming high. They have presented the U8, which is a large SUV full of luxuries, and the U9, which is this amazing specimen. By design you can see a two-seater coupe silhouettewhich has some scissor opening doors, replicating others like the Lamborghini. At the front, the C-shaped headlights and simulated air intakes stand out, while the rear receives a transparent fin for aerodynamic purposes.
We assume it, because the truth is that not too many details about this Yangwang U9. The rear is rounded off by rear lights made up of a horizontal slat that runs the entire width of the car and a generous diffuser to channel the air. Not even the photos of the cabin have been revealed, but we can expect that two-seat configuration and all kinds of concessions to sportsmanship. Taking current trends into account, it is foreseeable that digitalization will be adopted to give all kinds of data and telemetry through the screens.
At the performance level, we do know something more about the Yangwang U9. And it is that its electric propulsion system is made up of four motors, which go one on each wheel. The four of them combine to make one power between 1,196 and 1,305 hp, a true all-wheel drive beast that promises scandalous performance. They claim it can speed up 0 to 100 km/h in 2 secondsalthough they still do not talk about the size of its battery or the autonomy that it will approve.
He is supposed to be a direct rival for the future electric supercars that are coming out of the European brands. It does not reach the level of the Rimac Nevera, nor does it have the approach of the Audi e-tron GT; but it is clear that it is in a segment that will grow in the coming years. And the Yangwang U9 will have the advantage of a more affordable price than its rivals. In China it is advertised for around one million yuan, which would mean about 140,000 euros to change…
