Just over 70,000 euros have been paid for a Honda Civic Type R that belonged to Max Verstappen, the current Formula 1 world champion.
Max Verstappen, the current Formula 1 world champion, had a Honda Civic Type R as a company car for just over a year, which now just sold at auction.
The vehicle belonged to Verstappen during his first World Cup season last year and was auctioned off by the world champion himself at the end of the season for a good cause: for Red Bull’s “Wings for Life” foundation, which supports the treatment of paraplegia.

However, the then auction winner seems to have had enough of Honda’s compact. after a little less than a year and has decided to put it up for auction again. It is not that he enjoyed it very much either, since the mileage at Verstappen’s auction was 58,048 kilometers, eleven months later it has increased to only 58,432.
The driver’s 2018 Honda Civic Type R GT features 320 HP of power and 400 Nm of torque. It reaches a top speed of 270 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds. As a curiosity, this unit has Verstappen’s autographs on the dashboard and the tailgate

The auction platform estimated a final price for Verstappen’s Civic between 50,000 and 60,000 euros, but finally Its lucky new owner has paid 70,600 euros for it. A car with similar characteristics, without the attraction of having belonged to Verstappen, is valued at less than half, about 33,000 euros.
We are sure that Verstappen will miss the Japanese compact, but he has another spectacular model that will make him bear his sorrows. You have to remember that the Dutch driver recently received a Honda NSX as a gift from Honda, Red Bull’s partner in the current world champion’s Formula 1 team.
