Since mid-2022 we have talked about the return of the FIAT 600, iconic model of the Italian brand, although with a very different appearance from the original, by getting involved in the world of SUVs, and having electric motorization. In recent months, not only have images of his tests been leaked, but also of what would be a recording of an advertisement, where, unlike the rehearsals, he was seen without any camouflage.
Now, the battery-powered 600 was shown by FIAT itself, although not at a presentation event, far from it. but in a video with which he supports an initiative carried out by an Italian foundation. What was seen? We’ll tell you then.
FIAT 600e: First official images
In an audiovisual called “Open Doors” (“Open Doors” in English), barely 45s long, FIAT shows the exterior and part of the interior of the new 600, a model that appears as the protagonist of a tour that transits through some cities of the world. After being handled by other cities, its journey culminates in Saint Peter’s Square, in the Vatican, the place where the world meeting “Not Alone” was held on 06/10, organized by the Fondazione Fratelli Tutti, and which was supported by FIAT.
Ok, enough context. Let’s talk about the 600e. In the video we see for the first time without camouflage its front, rear and interior parts. The front is quite similar to that of the electric 500, but, at the same time, it has some elements of its own, as can be seen in the design of the optics and the defense. In addition, it is more robust and tall, typical of the SUV world.
The rear of the 600e is not clearly distinguishable, since the shots that show it present it as a part of the recorded landscape. Still, it’s noticeable that it’s more voluptuous than the 500e’s, and that it includes a plastic trim on the fascia. As for the interior of the 600e, part of the dashboard is shown, which is very similar to the 500e. The screen for the multimedia system appears clearly, which should be 10.5”, as well as part of the button panel, the steering wheel and the instrument panel with round relief.
FIAT 600e: What else is known?
The FIAT 600e is made on the electric variant of the CMP platform, which also uses the Jeep Avenger, a model from which the brand new vehicle is inspired. Its closeness to the SUV of the American brand would make it have similar dimensions, such as a length of 4.0 m, a width of 1.7 m and a height of 1.5 m.
The 600e’s battery-powered drive system would be the same as the Avenger, that is, one powered by a 54 kWh lithium-ion battery, which provides a range of 400 kilometers. As for power, it delivers 115 kW (156 Hp). The brand new addition to the FIAT offer would also be sold with a combustion engine, hand in hand with the Avenger’s 1.2 L Turbo Puretech (100 Hp).
