ANDhe Cronos is by far the best-selling vehicle in the Argentine market and led Fiat to regain first place after more than 25 years. This milestone, which it achieved for the second consecutive year in 2022 and will seek to repeat in 2023, has been achieved thanks to its attractive design, price-product ratio and availability. With the aim of redesigning the current range and making it simpler for its customers -according to the official statement-, the Italian brand presented the renewed portfolio of the sedan produced at the Ferreyra plant in Cordoba, with a name change for almost all the versions and the loss of the CVT option for the intermediate variant.
As of this new update, the range will consist of four versions: Like, Drive Pack Plus, Style and Precision, the latter being the only one that remains unchanged compared to the MY2023 line. The version Like 1.3 GSE replaces the current Attractive 1.3 GSE. Among the main innovations that it incorporates, the 15-inch alloy wheels stand out as standard equipment together with the body-colored mirrors and door handles (formerly black). The brand clarifies that this version will not be available for the Savings Plan channel.
The version Drive Pack Plus 1.3 GSE it will take the place of the previous S-Design (now discontinued), from which it takes some items such as the 15” multi-spoke alloy wheels painted in black, the piano black mirrors, the black front grille, logos and exterior finishes coppery. The interior lining of the roof along with its handles, the light panel and the pillars are now black in this version, while the spoiler of the S-Design version is now marketed as a Mopar accessory.
The third novelty is the version style 1.3 GSE, which combines top-of-the-range details and equipment but with a 5-speed manual gearbox. It has 15” alloy wheels, chrome exterior finishes, electrically folding exterior mirrors with courtesy light, darkened interior, leather steering wheel, leather upholstery, automatic climate control, front center armrest, and split rear seat, among other items. This variant will be available as a savings model in Fiat Plan.
In this way, as we pointed out previously, the version Precision It will be the only one available with the Aisin CVT automatic gearbox with 7 simulated gears. In terms of safety, the entire range has double front airbags, brakes with ABS/EBD/BA, traction control, stability control, Isofix anchors and a tire pressure sensor.
Mechanically, the four versions are powered by the well-known Firefly 1.3 8-valve gasoline engine, which delivers 99 hp at 6,000 rpm and 13 kgm of torque at 4,000 rpm.
In addition, the promotion that includes a fully subsidized service package with the completion of the 1st (first) and 2nd (second) scheduled maintenance service is maintained. They must be carried out every 10,000 km or 1 year, whichever comes first, as indicated in the vehicle’s use and maintenance manual, at any authorized dealer or workshop of the brand’s official network.
