At the beginning of 2022, KIA unveiled the update to its electric mobility plan, which included the production of two pick-ups. The most interesting thing about that announcement, at least for us, was that the firm assured that one of the two was going to be developed for emerging markets.
In the last hours, new information came to light. This time the battery mechanics was not mentioned, but it did have as its protagonist what would be a future medium truck. Filtered photos, details about its motorization and until the launch date were some of the news.

The information comes from Australia, a country that would be among the first to receive the KIA pick-up. Regarding its construction, it is expected to be carried out on an independent chassis, while it would be offered with a single and double cabin.
As for the engine, possibly KIA will equip its pick-up with a diesel engine, whose power would be transferred to the asphalt through the four wheels or the rear ones. In addition, it is expected to have a towing capacity of approximately 3,500 kg, and a load of 1,000 kg, Figures similar to those offered by the Toyota Hilux, one of the leaders in the segment.
Regarding its external appearance, it is worth noting the photos that were leaked about the tests that KIA is already carrying out, quite possibly in South Korea, taking into account that the images were published in a forum of that nation.
What is seen of the prototype is not much, since it presents covers in almost its entirety. The only one that What can be distinguished is part of his forehead, which recovers what was seen in the Mohave SUV, specifically the lights, grill and part of the fenders.

KIA’s new pick-up, known internally as the TK, is expected to be introduced to the world in 2024. As we mentioned above, Australia would be one of the first nations to receive it in 2025. It would then expand across Asia, Africa , and also South America.
